Background on Pipeline Repairs

Sunoco owns and operates a 9.2 mile, 6-in pipeline that begins at its Virginia Beach terminal on the North Landing River. Approximately 6.5 miles of the 9.2 miles of pipeline is located within local roadways. In order to maintain safe pipeline operations and meet federal regulations, Sunoco must complete several integrity management repairs on the pipeline this fall as part of our systematic approach to asset integrity management. Due to the routing and the location of the pipeline asset, completion of these repairs will involve impacts to local traffic patterns. Sunoco is working with local permitting officials to schedule the maintenance in a way that minimizes impact to the public, local traffic patterns and surrounding community.
